Canoeing

With access to Durras Lake at our doorstep, why not head out in a canoe for some adventure in the great outdoors. Explore the extensive Durras Lake area, go on a canoe and hike adventure, our find that romantic spot for picnic.
There are a number of walks around Durras Lake within Murramarang National Park that can break up your paddle and provide further adventures.

Durras Discovery Trail – Situated on the northern side of Durras Lake just minutes from North Durras, the discovery trail can be incorporated in your canoe adventure to give your arms a break and your legs a stretch. This walk takes approximately 45 minutes to complete, is well signposted with interpretative signage throughout on the areas history, and passes through a number of different forest types and plant communities.

Durras Lake Walk – Approximately 6 km in length, the Durras Lake walk is a wide mostly flat track which follows the northern shore of Durras Lake. Walk a small section for a break OR walk the lot!

Forest Trail – This track follows the history of logging in South Durras. It is an old forestry trail through part of what is now Murramarang National Park. You can join this walk at points where it ventures closer to the lake such as at the halfway point, which is known as “Grassy Bank”, or base yourself from the boat ramp.

The canoes have capacity for 2 persons maximum, and are rated for flat-water use in Durras Lake only. Fishing is prohibited from our canoes.
